The main purpose of police in every society is to keep check on societal evils and observe measures to provide security to public. In our country, however, police personnel are hand in glove in almost every vice and immorality and even sponsor vices and immoralities under their protection. The other day, a video was leaked to this correspondent, in which, more than one police officials were enjoying a dance party with a girl. One of them could be identified, who was under influence of liquor. He had wrapped the dancing girl in his uniform shirt and was dancing around her in police trousers.
What could one say, if police personnel get involved in such practices and found running liquor business and brothels in their sponsorship.
What sort of training workshops and reform sessions could do the miracle of moral training of such officials who have become wolves in sheep’s clothings and got a licence to do every sort of wrongdoing and there is no one to clampdown them.
Can such police personnel ensure protection to public or play a role in fight against terror?
The police authorities, when contacted by this correspondent for their comments and showed the humiliating video, ensured that the cop would be traced out. The cop was hunted down within a couple of days and authorities immediately suspended him.
According to sources, the accused cop tried to prove himself innocent ridiculously, saying that he was kidnapped when he left his office after duty and taken to a house where he was forced to ‘act’ what the abductors wanted him to do. But he neither disclosed who were the ‘female gangsters’ nor he identified the location of the house.
How can one believe in his ‘innocence’? Will he be penalised for humiliating the police uniform?
