Call to appoint a pharmacist for 10 hospital beds

LAHORE  :Pakistan Pharmacist Association (PPA) has celebrated “World Pharmacist Day” here on Monday. The World Pharmacist Day is celebrated on 25th September globally.

According to a press release, Pakistan Pharmacist Association President Dr. Atif Raza, and others expressed their views. The members demanded jobs from the Punjab government for 7,000 unemployed pharmacists. Their demands include, “drug inspectors at drug testing laboratory, a clinical pharmacist or hospital pharmacist on every 10 beds in hospitals.

The speakers said that if the rights of pharmacists were not protected, a countrywide protest will be announced. They requested CM Punjab and Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the situation and issue appropriate orders which will help establishing a quality medicines culture.

UVAS: University of Veterinary and Animals Sciences (UVAS) Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences observed World Pharmacist Day here on Monday with an aim to promote and advocate the role of pharmacists in improving healthcare.  A walk was held led by UVAS Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad while Dr Farzana Chowdhary and a large number of students and faculty members participated in it.
