Rangers chief assures ulema of stringent Muharram security
KARACHI: Sindh Rangers Director General (DG) Major General Muhammad Saeed on Wednesday assured religious scholars of ensuring foolproof security measures across the province throughout the month of Muharram.
The assurance was extended by the paramilitary force's provincial chief in a meeting held with Shia scholars and police officials at the Rangers Headquarters to discuss security arrangements to be implemented for the month’s activities.
According to a Rangers spokesperson, the meeting participants stressed the need to implement the approved code of conduct and security plans devised by the federal and provincial governments for the month of Muharram.
The spokesperson said that the Shia scholars attending the meeting assured the DG Rangers that they would fully cooperate with the law enforcement agencies. The scholars also lauded the security plan and steps devised by the Rangers to ensure peace and harmony in the city.
