In the absence of a regulatory authority, hospitals in the private sector are charging heavy consultation fees from patients. In some cases, the increase is substantially high. This has become a common practice in the federal capital. Those responsible for controlling them have also turned a blind eye to the injustice being meted out to the common man.
This is very unfortunate. Rampant corruption is destroying our country. Our failure to root it out is proving to be even more dangerous than terrorism. There is just no organ of the state left that is functioning in a satisfactory manner. All those at the helm are simply enjoying their time in the power seat and burdening the masses with whatever they can. Our present leadership neither have the solution nor the will to steer the country out of this quagmire. They have been imposed on this poor nation through the sheer weight of their wealth and only God knows when we will get ourselves free from their clutches. There is no bright side in sight.
