The number of libraries in Balochistan is far lower than in any other province of Pakistan. The significance of libraries cannot be overlooked. They are spaces where students can find a large collection of books on every subject and topic. In the past, students would spend more time in a library than at home. Students would sit for hours and prepare for examinations like the CCS. However, with time, the culture of visiting a library has declined. Now, the largest province of the country is home to only a few libraries.
The relevant authorities must look into this matter. The education sector in the province is deteriorating at a fast pace. The Balochistan government should take remedial measures to uplift the education sector. More libraries should be opened across the province so that students can go there and read more books. In fact, since a library is visited by students from different fields, it will be quite easy for a student to seek help from other students, if needed. In order to revive the habit of reading books among the young generation, there is a dire need to establish public libraries in each district of Balochistan.
