PESHAWAR: The parents of the martyred students of the Army Public School and College would stage a protest procession from the Aman Chowk to the school and arrange Quran Khwani today.
They appealed to the relatives of the martyrs and the general public to participate in the protest rally and the Quran Khwani. The call was given by the office-bearers and member of the Shuhada Forum, which claims to represent the martyred students and others killed in the brutal attack on the school.
Addressing a joint news conference here on Friday, Ajun Khan, father of martyred student Asfand Khan, Dr Farooq Shah, father of martyr Mubin Shah, Gul Badshah, uncle of martyred students Zeeshan Ahmad and
Owais Ahmad, Aurangzeb, father of Hassan Zeb, Mohammad Ali Khan, father of Shahab and others said the Shuhada Forum had no political objectives.
They said propaganda had been launched against them by some elements with vested interests. They said they were not being backed by any political party and were striving for a sacred cause.
The parents announced that they would not sit in peace unless those responsible for the terrorist attack were brought before the people and punished.
They said that despite the passage of two months after the tragic incident at the army-run school, the inquiry report hasn’t been made public.
They complained that the prime minister and interior minister could not make any contact with the parents so far. They demanded the chief justice to take sue moto notice of the incident.
