342 degrees awarded at sixth JMDC convocation

As many as 342 graduates of the Jinnah Medical and Dental College were awarded degrees at its sixth convocation held on Saturday.
The JMDC organises convocation after every two years awarding MBBS, BDS and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees to its graduates.
Professor Dr Pirzada Qasim in his speech as a chief guest emphasised the importance of acquiring a high degree of skills and knowledge.
Vice Chancellor University of Karachi Professor Dr Muhammad Qaiser spoke about the expectations of the society from doctors’ community. He believed that the JMDC would keep producing good doctors.
Earlier, welcoming the guests JMDC Principal Professor Dr Hussain Mehdi claimed that the college aimed at producing high quality graduates equipped with academic leadership qualities under the supervision of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members.
He said that the college is listed in the WHO Directory and many of the JMDC graduates were working in Pakistan and all over the world bringing credit and honour to the country and to their institution.
Nisha Nizar Ali, Uzair Ashraf and Rimsha Ali, received academic achievements award for having the best overall academic record in their respective classes.
The JMDC officials said that 34 (39 percent) MBBS graduates of 2013 batch earned a total of 26 distinctions in different subjects while 36 (53 percent) MBBS graduates of 2014 also got a total of 99 distinctions in different subjects.
