Capital cop guns down car driver
ISLAMABAD: A car driver was gunned down, the other wounded critically when a police gunman opened fire at a car though the driver stopped the car on signal at police picket near Rawal Town falling in the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town Police Station, police said. The interior minister has ordered an inquiry to know why the police personnel opened firing without any provocation.
A white Suzuki car was stopped by the police at the police picket and the driver stopped his car but a police gunman opened fire on the car aiming both the riders that resulted in the killing of the rider sitting on the driving seat while the other was wounded critically. The dead was identified as Inayat hailing from Tench Bhata and the wounded Ejaz were shifted to the hospital in critical condition. Top police officers reached the scene and started an investigation. The policeman involved in the killing has been taken in custody.
