LAHORE :A student of Punjab University was found dead in Room-168 of Khalid Bin Waleed Hall, Old Campus.
According to a PU spokesman, a few students informed the hostel administration about bad smell emitting from the room. He said a Chowkidar (security guard) along with some students opened the door of the room and found the student dead there. He was later identified as Manzoor Jamshed Kamboh, a student of MA Urdu Part 2. He belonged to Pakpattan.
Chairman Hall Council Prof Dr Abid Hussain Ch, Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan and other officials reached the spot and informed the police and his relatives. According to the police, the dead body seemed to be three days old. The body was sent for autopsy.
hit to death: A 24-year-old youth was killed and his brother injured by a speeding van in Badamibagh area on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Afzal and his injured brother as Ramzan. Afzal and Ramzan were passing through Bund Road Badamibagh when a rashly driven van ran over them. As a result, they were injured and rushed to a local hospital were Afzal succumbed to his injuries.

PHP: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) cracked down on various law violators and registered 303 cases against road users. PHP teams arrested and registered 290 cases on traffic violators. PHP impounded four motorbikes on using fake registration number plates. A PHP team recovered a stolen car and handed it over to its owner Sheikh Humayun, a resident of Sialkot. Nine people were arrested for using prohibited gas cylinders.
