PESHAWAR: Lawmakers belonging to the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan People’s Party have separately submitted an adjournment motion and a resolution, respectively, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly against the recent threats hurled by US President Donald Trump at Pakistan.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers Shaukat Yousafzai and Arif Yousuf, both elected from Peshawar, submitted an adjournment motion against Donald Trump’s threats. In their motion, they said the US president’s threats to a sovereign country were unbearable and need a categorical response from the government of Pakistan.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) lawmaker Fakhre Azam Wazir, who was elected from Bannu, submitted a resolution in the assembly secretariat against President Trump for threatening Pakistan.

In his resolution, he asked the federal government to reframe its foreign policy and answer the US threats categorically by declaring that being a sovereign country Pakistan would not accept any dictates. He added that Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terror should be acknowledged.
