Two men murdered in separate incidents
LAHORE Two people were murdered and a man was injured in two different incidents in the provincial metropolis on Thursday.
In the first incident happened in the Islampura area, a young man who was returning after appearing in a court in a murder case was attacked allegedly by his rivals. The victim, Awais Sohail, was accused in a double murder case at Garden Town three years back in a Sheesha Cafe. He was absconder in the case. Two weeks ago, he had come back and secured bail. On the day of the incident, he was returning after appearing before a court when unidentified persons intercepted him and opened fire. As a result, he and a passerby, Zubair, suffered bullet wounds. They were removed to hospital where doctors pronounced Awais dead. Police have removed the body to morgue, collected forensic evidences from crime scene and recorded the statements of the eye-witnesses.
In the other incident, some unknown persons slit opened the throat of a man at his house at Baghbanpura. The victim identified as Abdul Rehman was living with his wife and children in a rented house.
On the day of the incident, he was asleep in his house when his wife went to a nearby market with the children. The door of the house was open. When she returned after about 20 minutes, she found the victim in a pool of blood. She informed police. A police team reached the spot and removed the body to morgue.
A police officer said that the house was owned by a teenage boy as his parents had died. The owner’s uncles had asked the victim many times to vacate the building and had also threatened him of dire consequences as he had not listened to their requests. The investigator said that they were investigating the matter keeping in view of different aspects.
Minor dies: A minor lost life in a road accident while two men were reportedly killed by swindlers in different parts of the provincial capital on Thursday.
At Township, the minor, Arham, was playing when a vehicle hit him. He suffered injuries and was removed to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Police have removed the body to morgue. Police have impounded the vehicle while its driver fled from the scene.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old unidentified man reportedly was killed by swindlers at Misri Shah. A passerby spotted him and informed police. Police said fumes were coming out of the mouth of the victim. Circumstantial evidences suggested that the victim fell victim to swindlers. However, autopsy and further investigations would help ascertain the cause of his death, police said. Yet in another incident, a body of an unidentified man was found at Mozang. Police were investigating the matter and searching for the family of the victim.
