PESHAWAR: The Jamaat-e-Islami is staging a sit-in outside the Governor’s House here today to press the government for the merger of the tribal areas into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Speaking at a press conference, Jamaat-e-Islami provincial head Mushtaq Ahmad Khan hoped a number of workers of other political parties, religious scholars, educationists, civil society members and people from all walks of life would participate in the sit-in to be led by JI chief Senator Sirajul Haq.

The Jamaat-e-Islami provincial head told reporters that the Jamaat-e-Islami had fought against the Frontier Crimes Regulation for the last several years and would continue struggle till the people of the tribal areas were given their due rights.
