JI holds sit-in today
PESHAWAR: The Jamaat-e-Islami is staging a sit-in outside the Governor’s House here today to press the government for the merger of the tribal areas into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking at a press conference, Jamaat-e-Islami provincial head Mushtaq Ahmad Khan hoped a number of workers of other political parties, religious scholars, educationists, civil society members and people from all walks of life would participate in the sit-in to be led by JI chief Senator Sirajul Haq.
The Jamaat-e-Islami provincial head told reporters that the Jamaat-e-Islami had fought against the Frontier Crimes Regulation for the last several years and would continue struggle till the people of the tribal areas were given their due rights. He believed the solution to the problems of the tribesmen was to merge Fata with KP.
