DERA GHAZI KHAN: Rajanpur police recovered seven abducted police officials in the wee hours of Monday after heavy exchange of fire with bandits in the kacha area.
The police carried out recovery operation after midnight with heavy contingent of officials from police line Elite Force and from the police stations of Rajanpur tehsil. The sources said police were well-informed about the hideouts of the dacoits in the kacha area while local community also shared information with the police about the location where abductees were kept. The sources said Punjab chief minister had directed RPO Dera Ghazi Khan and DPO Rajanpur for the quick and safe recovery of the policemen.
The police used a large number of motor boats and weapons following which the gangs released the seven abducted police officials who include Muzammil Shakir, Zeeshan Luqman, Safdar Jamshed and Sabir. A case was also registered against Attaullah, who is the ring leader of Patt Gang which operates in the riverine area.
