Man stabs son to death over petty issue

LAHORE: A man stabbed his son to death over a petty dispute in the Millat Park police area on Friday.

The victim has been identified as Mesam Ali, son of Arshad. Police said the victim had exchanged harsh words wit his father over some unknown issue.

The accused got furious and attacked his son with a knife and badly injured him. The victim was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have arrested the accused and collected forensic evidences from the crime scene. Further investigations are underway. The body has been removed to morgue.

arrested: Sadr CIA claimed to have arrested eight members of an 11-member dacoit gang and recovered loot from their custody. 

CIA SP Tariq Mastoi said the accused, including Tanveer Hussain, Imran Ali, Rehmat, Akram, Riaz, Abdul Wasae, were involved in over 22 incidents of house robberies.

Firing: Some unknown persons opened indiscriminate firing at the house of Punjab chief minister's adviser Syed Anjum and fled in the Lytton Road police jurisdiction on Friday. 

No loss of life or injury to anyone was reported in the incident. Police said some unknown persons reached the home of Anjum on a bike and opened firing. They created panic in the area and fled the scene resorting to firing into the air. Police after being informed reached the scene and collected evidences. No case was registered till the filing of this report.

campaign: The City Traffic Police on Friday launched a "One Week One Road" campaign to make the citizens aware of traffic rules and regulations. The wardens will identity major problems of the traffic, educate the people and then issue warning notices. 

CTO Rai Ijaz said removal of illegal parking and encroachments would help improve flow of traffic in the city.
