Rawalpindi: The families who visit the ‘502 Workshop Park’ for jogging, walking and recreational activities have appealed to the concerned authorities to save the park. The residents have requested to immediately stop the construction of an APS College where the park’s green belt currently is.

One of the residents while speaking to this scribe said that while development and progress is always welcome, parks are essential to liveable and well-planned communities. "Our 502 Park provides gathering places for families and social groups, as well as for individuals of all ages and economic status, regardless of their ability to pay for access," they said.

The residents had the reservations that APS College can be built in a different location, however once the park is gone, it will be gone forever. This is the only neighbourhood park and green belt in the communities of Lalazar, Tulsa village, Sher Zaman Colony, Adyala Road, Lalkurti, New Lalazar, Harley Street, Dehri Hassanabad, Tali Mori and Kamalabad.

So many residents of these adjoining areas visit park everyday for their recreational and health activities. The residents have requested to Save their park, so countless families and generations can continue enjoying the little bit of green nature that is left in this quickly developing concrete city.
