According to some media reports, in his message on the occasion of National Minorities Day, the chief minister of Punjab stated that the provincial government has been taking a number of measures to safeguard the rights of minority groups in the country. He added that the authorities are working diligently to bring minority groups into the national mainstream by providing them equal opportunities of progress and development.
Our religion also asserts that it is the responsibility of every individual to protect rights of minority groups. The religion preaches tolerance, mutual respect and protection of human rights without any discrimination. All what is being done for the welfare and wellbeing of minority groups is commendable.
