Navy continue to dominate Parvez Abbasi Open

KARACHI: Exhilarating competition continued on day two of the inaugural Parvez Abbasi Open Shooting Championship here on Saturday.

Shooters from Pakistan Navy dominated the proceedings bagging another 9 gold medals. This brings their tally to an unbeatable 22 gold medals, having secured 13 gold medals on Day 1.

Fourteen medals in the individual and team categories were decided that saw competitors trying to outscore their peers for the top spots in the Air Pistol (Women Junior), Air Pistol (Women Youth), Air Pistol (Men ), Air Pistol (Women), Standard Fire Pistol, .22 Open Sight Rifle Women and Skeet Olympic.

Parvez Abbasi Open Shooting Championship is an annual event that has been launched to celebrate the life and achievements of Mr. Parvez Abbasi, the Founding Secretary of the National Rifle Association and one of the key drivers of the sport of shooting in Pakistan.

The three-day tournament is being held at the Pakistan Navy Shooting Range at PNS Karsaz. Expert marksmen and women from all over the country, including Olympians, Regional and National Champions are competing in the multiple disciplines.
