The positive contributions of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (Unicef) to the education sector in the country will continue to receive the government’s support.
This was stated by Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Balighur Rehman during a meeting with outgoing United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund Representative in Pakistan Angela Kearney here on Friday.
After completing her tenure of three years, Ms. Angela made a farewell call on the minister and thanked him for his support to the programmes and initiatives of Unicef.
The minister appreciated Ms. Kearney’s efforts for the betterment of education sector in Pakistan and wished her success for future assignments.
He also assured her
that the positive contributions of Unicef will continue to receive the government’s support in the future as
well.
The minister said the government would continue to work with the Unicef for common goals of improving accessibility and quality of education for children. He also presented a momento to Ms. Kearney to remind her of her stay in the country.
