Cop given cash prize for foiling bid to murder Chinese engineers
LAHORE: Special Protection Unit (SPU) DIG Faisal Rana gave away cash prize and commendatory certificate to a constable who had foiled a murder bid on the Chinese engineers working on CPEC Project in Rahim Yar Khan some days back. The constable, Zubair, received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and CC2 certificate in a ceremony held at Central Police Office. As per details, two masked armed men opened indiscriminate firing at the Chinese experts at Shadani Camp on August 4, upon which the constable Zubair from SPU offered resistance and foiled the murder bid on the Chinese engineers. He managed to overpower the assailants despite receiving wounds during the encounter. The DIG also gave away cash prizes and appreciation certificates to two constables Hafiz Tanveer and Qaisar for showing outstanding performance while performing their duty. The DIG said honest and dedicated police officials were the pride of the SPU.
