‘Exports of five bn dollars reduced in last four years’
TOBA TEK SINGH: All Pakistan Textile Mills Association senior member Muhammad Aslam has said at least 5 billion dollars export has been reduced due to alleged wrong policies of the government during the last four years.
Talking to reporters at the press club here on Sunday, Aslam said that textile sector had a hope that new PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi would give attention on the textile sector. He said that Bangladesh, India and Sri Lankan governments give rebate to exporters against their exports but here in Pakistan the government deducts money on exports instead of giving rebate.
He said that majority of the textile mills had already been closed and the remaining were also about to close. As a result of destruction of textile sector, millions of workers had become jobless, he added. APTMA leader Muhammad Aslam demanded the government take steps for betterment of textile sector.
