PHA workers continue protest

LAHORE: Hundreds of workers of Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) staged a protest demonstration outside the Jillani Park (Race Course Park) here Friday and demanded immediate regularisation of work charge employees.

The workers gathered outside the Jillani Park early Friday and blocked Jail Road. They were demanded immediate regularisation of work charge employees, raise in salaries of contractual staff and the provision of basic facilities to all PHA officials.

The protesters blocked Jail Road and later marched to Shadman Chowk. They said Friday’s protest was just the beginning and they would stage a sit-in if their demands remained unheard. They said thousands of PHA workers would join the sit-in if the administration didn’t listen to their demands.
