ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister for Railways and senior leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) and MNA Ghulam Ahmad Bilour on Monday announced $200,000 bounty on head of owner of French magazine ‘Charlie Hebdo’, which published blasphemous sketches inviting anger and protest among Muslims around the world.
Ghulam Ahmad Bilour said that he would also present $100,000 to heirs of three gunmen, who attacked the office of the French magazine, killing 12 people, including magazine’s editor and cartoonists.
Bilour also asked the Pakistan government to find out the three attackers, who were killed later in a clash with the French police. It may be pointed out here that the then Railways Minister Ghulam Bilour in September, 2012, announced $100,000 bounty on head of US filmmaker, who produced blasphemous film. Then he had also offered al-Qaeda and the Taliban to join him in the sacred task.
“After announcing the bounty on head of the US filmmaker, I told a foreigner, who met him that the Muslims are peaceful people but they are ready to sacrifice everything for dignity and respect of the Holy Prophet (SAW),” he said. The ANP leadership then had disassociated itself with the statement of Ghulam Ahmad Bilour.
