Honda Atlas Cars’ profit climbs 98pc
Profit of Honda Atlas Cars (HCAR) almost doubled year-on-year to Rs2.086 billion for the quarter ended June 30, 2017, translating into earnings per share (EPS) of Rs14.61, a bourse filing said on Tuesday.
HCAR recorded profit of Rs1.050 billion with EPS of Rs7.36 during the same period a year ago. The company also announced a cash dividend of Rs4.18/share along with the corporate earnings.
Sales revenue for the quarter under review stood at Rs21.058 billion, up 99 percent as compared to the turnover of Rs10.533 billion during the corresponding period of the last year. As demand for the new Civic model continued, coupled with new bookings of the BR-V, availability of cash from advance bookings resulted in a 265 percent jump in other income to clock in at Rs466.303 million for the quarter against Rs127.613 million during the same period of the last year.
