PTI, PPP lawyers join PML-Q

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior leader Ch Pervaiz Elahi has said his party has always been on the front for solving problems of the lawyer community on priority, established the institution of prosecutor general during its tenure, set up consumer courts and formulated housing scheme for lawyers.

A delegation of senior lawyers of Lahore High Court belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), headed by Rana Asad Munir advocate, called on Pervaiz Elahi at his residence here today (Monday) and announced joining the Pakistan Muslim League.

The delegation included Faisal Aman advocate, Irfan Ghaffar, Nadeem Aman, Ejaz Hussain Shah, Atif Ahmad and Mazhar Ali advocate. Welcoming the lawyer leaders in the party fold, Pervaiz Elahi said that the rulers would have to account for their deeds. "The Panama case came from Almighty Allah for catching  corruption of the rulers and people should not be dodged by their innocent faces because the Supreme Court has exposed their corruption," he added.

He said according to the Auditor General there was a tale of corruption hidden in every project of the Punjab government. "Corruption of billions of rupees was committed in the laptop scheme, Sasti Roti, yellow cab, mechanical tandoor and Ashiana scheme. We introduced private universities to promote education and established IT Tower for promotion of Information Technology (IT)," he added.

Condolences: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President Ch Shujaat Hussain, senior leader Ch Pervaiz Elahi and Moonis Elahi have expressed grief over martyrdom of a large number of policemen and civilians in the Lahore bomb explosion.

In a joint statement, they prayed for patience to the families of the martyrs and early recovery of the injured. They said despite a high alert in the provincial capital, no regret was enough over targeting of such a large number of police and civilians.
