SIALKOT/ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif on Saturday said PTI chief Imran Khan, who had been demanding accountability of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Sharif family’s three generations, must get ready for being frisked.

He said Imran was unable to provide his money trail of the last two decades and they would not allow him escaping the search.

Addressing a press conference at his residence, he said the PTI chief had no proof regarding purchase of flat worth 170,000 pounds sterling in London and the 300-kanal house in Bani Gala. Imran was trying to hide behind the charity projects (Shaukat Khanum Hospital) initiated by him, he added.

Khawaja Asif said Imran was involved in misuse of donations collected for welfare projects and would soon be held accountable.

He said the prime minister had been courageously facing the accountability process but no charge of corruption or misuse of authority was proved against him.

Khawaja Asif ruled out any possibility of becoming temporary prime minister in case of the speculated disqualification of Nawaz.

The PML-N was united under the leadership of Nawaz and ready to face any of the good or bad circumstances along with him.

On the other hand, Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb vehemently quashed the speculations that the PML-N in a consultative meeting considered some alternate names for premiership in case Nawaz was disqualified.

In a statement, she said those spreading rumours would gain be proved wrong and added that no alternate names were ever discussed because the party did not feel the need for that.

Meanwhile, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar “was, is and will” remain loyal to Nawaz.

He said Nisar’s association with Nawaz spanned over 32 years and would be with him on frontline, adding that the rivals’ desires would never be fulfilled.
