Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Wednesday conducted operation against seven illegal shops, demolished four shops and sealed three shops in residential area of Ghazni Colony, Bagh Sardaran.
According to RDA spokesman Hafiz Mohammad Irfan under the direction of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division/Director General (DG) RDA Talat Mahmood Gondal, RDA’s Building Control Wing has been actively conducting continuous operations against illegal/unauthorised commercial and residential construction activities including plazas/shops, schools and other illegal land use within the controlled area of RDA in Rawalpindi city.
In pursuance of directions, Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate, RDA’s Building Control Team today in the supervision of RDA's Building Control Superintendent Syed Aslam Shah, Building inspectors and others with the assistance of Rawalpindi Police from the concerned Police Station carried out operation against seven illegal shops in the residential area of Ghazni Colony, Bagh Sardaran.
The owner of the property constructed seven illegal shops in violation of Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2007 under section 39 and 8.2.2. The DG RDA has directed the Building Control Wing to take strict action against illegal/unauthorised constructions commercial activities and encroachments without any fear or favour.
