Four martyred as Pak Army vehicle targeted by India at LoC
RAWALPINDI: The Indian troops on Sunday targeted a Pakistan Army vehicle moving along the Neelum River at Athmuqm on the Line of Control (LoC). According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), “The (targeted) vehicle fell into the Neelum River. Resultantly, four soldiers riding the vehicle drowned.”
Body of one Shaheed soldier was recovered while search for the remaining three soldiers was being carried out.The ceasefire violation of Indian troops was accordingly responded, the ISPR added.
Our correspondent adds: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the Indian forces’ firing on a Pakistan Army jeep at Neelum Valley resulting in drowning and martyrdom of four army personnel. In a statement later in the day, Prime Minister Nawaz expressed grief over the incident and offered condolences to the bereaved families of the martyred personnel. The prime minister praised the prompt response by the Pakistan Army in thwarting the attack.
