The SC directed Karachi Metropolitan Corporation commissioner to submit a detailed report over the status of Zulfikarabad Oil Terminal’s completion as well as the parking of oil tankers at the site.

The court was hearing a petition filed by Shugafta Bibi, a resident of Clifton Block-1, who pleaded with the chief justice of Pakistan to order the shifting of the oil tankers’ terminal from the locality she resided in.

The woman had initially written a letter to the CJP who later converted into a constitutional petition. The AG Sindh informed the court that the oil terminal was handed over to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation for parking of oil tankers.

The KMC officer sought time to file detailed report about the status of the oil tankers terminal. The court directed the commissioner to submit a detailed report about the present status and functioning of the terminal. The KMC official was also directed to apprise the court over whether oil tankers were removed from the Shireen Jinnah Colony.
