PR to set up modern container yard

Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has said time has come to establish railway’s infrastructure on modern lines to cope with the needs of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Chairing a meeting of railways’ senior officials on Monday, the minster directed the officials concerned to establish a modern container yard in Karachi at its 26 acres of land through public-private partnership.
According to a press release, the minister said keeping in view CPEC’s needs, establishing container terminals as well as yards on modern lines was need of the hour. Saad Rafique said an expert firm should be engaged for preparing the master plan.
