Two security personnel among four killed in Tirah
LANDIKOTAL: Two personnel of security forces and two civilians were killed in a roadside bomb blast in the Maidan area in Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency, official sources said on Saturday.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
The sources said that a Hawaldar of the Pakistan Army, a Levies soldier and two civilians were killed when a remote-controlled bomb planted near the checkpost of security forces went off, killing the four persons on the spot.
The slain persons were identified as Hawaldar Mehmood Shah of Pakistan Army, Naik Bagh Mir of Khyber Levies and local residents Qari Afridi and Lal Jan Afridi.
Soon after the blast, the Pakistan Army and Levies personnel rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.
They collected evidence and started search operation in the area.
Meanwhile, Shoaib Afridi, a resident of Jamrud, was going home when unknown motorcyclists opened fire on him near Shakas. The man received multiple bullets wounds and died on the spot.
