The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has said that lawlessness in Karachi was the result of government’s reconciliation policy with the terrorists.
In a statement issued on Friday, the party’s Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman also accused the government of providing shelter to target killers, terrorists and extortionists.
He demanded of the government for disclosing political affiliation of the target killers and terrorists arrested by the police and Rangers and called for indiscriminate operation against the criminals.
He regretted that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif instead of expressing condolence with the families of Dr Shakeel Auj and Prof Sibt-e-Jaffar was sympathising with those who were responsible for creating unrest in the city.
“The MQM chief was openly giving threatening statements against army, ISI, Rangers and the business community but the government has not yet taken notice of these”, the JI leader added.
Hafiz Naeem claimed that affiliation of every target killer apprehended by the LEAs had found out to be with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, however; the government was adopting the policy of political reconciliation with the terrorists.
He said that the government has also deferred the death penalty of an MQM worker, Saulat Mirza, who has confessed to be involved in target killings of more than 100people proving the notion that the government was not keen in eliminating terrorism from Karachi.
