Islamabad Under Science Talent Farming project, the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) has transformed Old Science Caravan Trucks into colorful and well-equipped ‘Mobile Science Talent Farming Labs.’
Not many people are aware of this initiative in which science labs regularly travel to smaller districts to inculcate the curiosity and love for science among the children. Science Caravan is a Mobile Science Exhibition that has been designed by Pakistan Science Foundation to increase public awareness about science and to motivate the younger generation towards study of science. It includes, working scientific models having scientific write ups, star lab planetarium and scientific films.
The exhibitions are set up in the schools and colleges even in far fling rural areas and a large number of students and general public take benefit from them. At present, nine Science Caravan Units are in operation, two in each province and one in Federal.

The initiative is aimed at stimulating interest of students in science through display of attractive scientific models, charts and exhibits and by arranging scientific film shows on topics of interest to common man, arranging planetarium shows to explain the astronomical concepts and inculcating in the minds of students the idea of solving everyday problems by application of science and technology.
The refurbished labs, transformed under Science Talent Farming project, are equipped with latest equipment, computers, LEDS with touch screen for interactive learning of students. For presentation and scientific videos, it can accommodate 15-20 students at a time. These air conditioned trucks work with solar power. Option for display scientific models and gadgets is also available in the lab. Instead of arranging exhibition in the rooms of the schools, now the students can visit and can get the same facilities inside the lab. PSF Mobile Science lab also carries practical and experimental kits for students according to their curricular for better understanding of practical work for the students.
