PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has urged the countrymen to sink differences and work for the unity of the Muslims.
In a special message, the chief minister greeted the people on Eidul Fitr and said the peace, unity and forgiveness were the essence of the festival. He said these traits strengthened the faith and created the sense of collectiveness and unity.
The chief minister said that Eidul Fitr had a philosophy which called upon us to thank Allah Almighty for all His blessings.Pervez Khattak said the festival provided us an opportunity to all, both rich and poor, to join hands to celebrate the festive occasion in unison.
He said Sadqa-e-Fitr (Fitrana) was another important part of Eidul Fitr which was meant for sharing the festivities with the poor and the have-nots. He said this led to collective efforts for effecting social welfare.
Pervez Khattak said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was working to further the same philosophy of collectiveness and welfare of the weaker sections of the society.
