Families of martyred policemen get allotment letters

Punjab Inspector General of Police Muhammad Usman Khattak has said martyred policemen are the pride of the Punjab police and giving more attention to the families of the martyred and taking care of them constitutes the priorities of the police welfare. 

Addressing a ceremony for the distribution of allotment letters to the families of martyred policemen at Central Police Office on Thursday, he said that all RPOs and DPOs had already received clear directions from Central Police Office pertaining to the timely transfer of all stipends including Guzara Allowance to the bank account of the martyred policemen’ widows and heirs.

He offered the widows and heirs of martyred policemen to directly call on him at his office or contact him telephonically if they have any problem regarding transfer of money. “Their problems will be solved on priority basis,” he vowed.

He warned that immediate departmental action would be initiated against those officers and officials who used delaying tactics in solving the problems being faced by the families of martyred policemen.

He said Punjab police right from the rank of constable to IGP was like a family sharing happiness and sorrows with each other.

He said a residential plot could not be a compensation for the outstanding sacrifices of martyrs but it was an Eid gift for them from the Police Department.

He directed the officers to take all possible measures for the security of Shab e Qadar, Jumma tul Wida and Chand Raat.

He directed the Dolphin Force, PRU Force and Traffic Police to have a close coordination between them for removing illegal encroachments on different roads of the city, especially Ferozepur road and it should be the priority to maintain peace and tranquility by using all available resources. Addl IGP Operations, Mohsin Hassan Butt, CCPO Lahore, Muhammad Amin Wains, Addl IGP Welfare and Finance, Shoaib Dastgeer, Addl IGP/PHP, Amjad Javeed Saleemi, Addl IGP/Discipline & Inspections, Ijaz Hussain Shah, Addl IGP/Investigation, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG Traffic, Punjab, Farooq Mazhar, DIG Operations Lahore, Dr Haider Ashraf, AIG Operations, Waqar Abassi, CTO Lahore, Rai Ejaz and SP Dolphin, Muhammad Faisal were present in the ceremony. 

Additional IG Welfare said heirs of 14 martyrs, who had embraced Shahadat in bomb blasts and encounters in Lahore, Multan, Mandi Bahauddin, Toba Tek Singh, Okara, Sheikhupura and Gujranwala, were invited on this occasion. He said that allotment letters had been given with the cooperation of Punjab police and National Police Foundation. IGP also gave Rs 2,000 each to children of martyrs as Eid gift.

He directed the CCPO, RPOs and DPOs to make foolproof security arrangements on the eve of Namaz e Eid.

He directed them to personally device security plans for Eid congregations falling in A category and it should also be make sure that force should be remain in position at least one hour before the Eid Namaz, whereas, all the circle officers personally check the security arrangements and should also be briefed about their sensitive duty. He directed that strict action should be taken against all violators of traffic rules and specifically for those who violate one way traffic rule without any discrimination on all major roads of city including Ferozpur Road.
