Munda Dam termed vital for KP

PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party provincial chief and Senior Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao Thursday said construction of Munda Dam was necessary to save Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from floods andproduce cheap electricity. Talking to a delegation of party workers here, he said Munda Dam would play a key role to promote agriculture sector and save the province from floods.

He said that federal government was not serious in construction of the dam project.He also criticised the federal government for delaying its construction, which was among the causes of shortage of electricity and water for irrigation purposes.“Federal government should allocate resources for the energy projects in the militancy-hit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to provide a source of livelihood in the low income province.
