Cops told to be vigilant in wake of Quetta attack
In the wake of a fatal attack on three policemen in Quetta, the Sindh police chief has issued directives to all officers to take extra precautions and remain on high alert for any suspicious activity.
Sindh Inspector General of Police AD Khowaja, in an official statement issued on Sunday, urged all police officers and staff to ensure proper self-protection measures, including wearing bulletproof jackets.
Personnel deputed on security around taraweeh prayer sites, mosques, imambargahs and other public places have been asked to be extra vigilant and ensure absolute coordination with other law enforcers.
The Sindh police chief also urged the cops not to needlessly compromise the dignity of law-abiding citizens. He also called on members of the public to cooperate with the police department and immediately report any unusual activity in their surroundings.
Suspicious activities or objects, the IGP said, must be urgently reported on the police’s helpline, 15, or directly communicated to the nearest police officer.
