Ramazan road safety campaign launched

On the special directive of DIG Motorway Police M-2, a Ramazan road safety campaign has been launched.

In this campaign, Iftar boxes and special road safety pamphlets. brochures and booklets were distributed among commuters and motorists on Motorway M-2 Ravi Toll Plaza, Lahore.  SSP Masroor Alam Kolachi , DSP Muhammed Afzal Majeed were also present on the occasion. Sector Commander SSP Masroor Alam Kolachi advised the NH&MP officers that as during the month of Ramazan, people often loose their temperament; therefore, the officers should pay special courtesy and should not misbehave with any road user. Similarly, at the time of Iftar, the chances of road accidents increase, therefore, special measures be taken to ensure safety and security of people on Motorways and on National Highways.

The SSP stressed upon the officers to take great care of the road users in distress, as the provision of help, counseling and guidance to road users is the hallmark of Motorway Police and we must sustain this credibility. 

House reclaimed: As a result of efforts of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, an expatriate has got back the possession of his house, worth Rs6 million. OPC Vice Chairperson Shaheen Khalid Butt said that Muhammad Khalid, settled in Saudi Arabia, had lodged a complaint with OPC that his tenant had refused to vacate his house in Burewala. The complaint was referred to District Overseas Pakistanis Committee (DOPC) Vehari for further proceedings. DOPC Chairperson Shahzad Dogar and DPO Umer Saeed Malik made efforts and got the house vacated and handed it over to its original owner. Shaheen Khalid Butt said that OPC was vigorously pursuing the cases of overseas Pakistanis and so far, half of the received complaints had been settled.
