PMA lauds India for visa to ailing baby
LAHORE
Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) appreciates the Indian government for issuing medical, neonatal Visa to an ailing two-and-a-half-year-old Pakistani baby boy, Rohan. This has been the first visa being issued to any Pakistani for last three months duration.
The Indian government had imposed unannounced ban on issuance of medical visas to Pakistani citizens.
According to a press release issued here on Friday, PMA (Centre) President Prof M Ashraf Nizami and Secretary General Dr SM Qaisar Sajjad said that thousands of Pakistanis wanting treatment for liver and heart-related ailments at major hospitals in New Delhi, Chennai and other Indian cities had been affected due to non-issuance of medical visas.
With the issuance of the visa to the baby, PMA again demands for immediate issuance of visa to other patients who are anxiously waiting for their medical treatment in India.
We hope that the Indian government will continue issuing medical visa to the Pakistani patients and will not link this to politics.
