Hot wave continued to persist in the city, which witnessed a partly cloudy weather and a trace of rain on early Monday.
The Met officials said continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country while a shallow westerly wave is present over upper parts of the country. The Met office predicted mainly very hot and dry weather in plain areas of the country during day time. However, rain-thunderstorm is expected at a few places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions and Kashmir during (evening/night), they maintained.
On Monday, weather remained very hot and dry in most parts of the country while rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur divisions & Kashmir.
The Met officials said rainfall was recorded at several cities including Noorpurthal, Sialkot, Gujrat, Bahawalnagar, Murree, Sahiwal, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Joharabad, Rawalpindi, Rawalakot and Kotli. Monday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Turbat where mercury reached 53.5°C while it was 50°C at Sibbi, 49°C at Jacobabad and Dadu, 48°C at Larkana and 47°C at Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Bhakkar, Sakrund and Sukkur. In Lahore maximum temperature came down to 39°C while minimum was 25°C.
