Suffering in silence
In our country, people who are transgender live in isolation. They are disrespected but they are also deprived of their basic rights. This is because of the typical mindset of our society. A majority of people don’t include them in social gatherings. These people are forced to live in secluded communities and struggle to meet their monthly expenses. The plight of these people is often highlighted by human rights activists and several NGOs, but no constructive step has been taken to alleviate the sufferings of these people.
These people cannot get admission in an education institution. Since many transgender people are out of school, they don’t have required skills to enter into a job market. Education institutions should not deny admission because of a person’s gender. The government should take notice of the issue.
