Red Crescent sets up Neelum branch to assist LoC families
NEELUM: The Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) has established its district branch in Neelum for effective community resilience, community based disaster risk reduction, health and hygiene, mine risk reduction, first aid and restoring family link programmes with the support of international donors.
The PRC Chairman, Dr Saeed Elahi, laid the foundation stone of the branch. Dr Elahi said the PRC will be a permanent network in Neelum to assist families living in areas bordering the LoC.
“The establishment of district branch in Bagh in December 2016 and now in Neelum besides the already established Muzaffarabad provincial branch is an example that the PRC is always there to support those needing the most,” he added.
He also announced one emergency response ambulance for the Neelum branch. He said the aforementioned PRC initiatives were running successfully in Kotli, Poonch and Muzaffarabad divisions.
