Our correspondent

Islamabad

If you plan outdoor recreation this weekend, you may rest assured that the weather will be relatively pleasant in these otherwise hot and dry days.  The reason is that there is a good chance of rain falling in Islamabad and adjoining areas today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday).  According to an official of the Met Office, a fresh shallow westerly wave is likely to enter upper and central parts of the country on Saturday evening or night to last for the next 48 hours.  “During the next 48 hours, rains coupled with thunderstorm are expected to occur at isolated places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore, Multan, D.G Khan and Sahiwal divisions, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir," weatherman Muhammad Farooq told reporters here.
