Passport officer held in connection with trafficking racket

A team of the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle on Friday arrested an official of the Regional Passport Office for involvement in a trafficking racket. A spokesman for FIA Sindh said a team of the AHTC conducted a successful operation at the Regional Passport Office in Malir, Karachi, and arrested an official identified as Tanveer Ahmed. The officer was caught with tainted money and the operation was conducted under the supervision of Jawed Iqbal Rehmani and the station house officer of the circle. A case has been registered under the section of 161/109 PPC r/w 5(2) PCA Act-II 1947. Efforts were underway to arrest the remaining members of the gang.
