11 victims shifted to Multan hospital from BVH

BAHAWALPUR: Eleven victims of the Adda Shahnal, Lodhran, gas cylinder blast were shifted to the Multan Nishtar Hospital from the Bahawal Victoria Hospital on Sunday. According to BVH doctors, about 14 injured were shifted to the BVH. Of them, 11, having more than 60 to 70 per cent burn injuries, were shifted to the Nishtar Hospital. The Lodhran deputy commissioner and the DPO monitored the shifting of the patients from the BVH to the Nishtar Hospital. Around 22 people were injured in a gas cylinder explosion at Adda Shahnal.
189 gunny bags recovered in Pakpattan

PAKPATTAN: The assistant food controller on Sunday recovered 189 gunny bags in three incidents here. On a tip-off, the assistant food controller raided the shop of Fakhar Rasool at Chak Purana Thana and recovered 110 empty gunny bags and 19 bags of wheat. Later, the officer also recovered 57 gunny bags from the tractor-trolley of Fakhar Rasool. In another raid, the assistant food controller raided the shop of Rasheed at Chak Purana Thana and recovered 22 empty gunny bags. Police have registered separate cases.
Issueless woman burnt alive by in-laws

OKARA: A woman was allegedly burnt alive by her in-laws for being issueless at Chak 36/4-L. Aasia Bibi was married about three years ago but she was still issueless. On Saturday night, her in-laws Mir Islam, Fazil and Bagh Ali allegedly sprinkled petrol on her and set her on fire. As a result, she received serious burns. She was shifted to the DHQ Hospital in critical condition.
Maid was raped before murder: police

LAHORE: Model Town police claimed that the maid who was killed on Saturday was raped before murder in her employer’s house. According to police, the accused suffocated the victim, Munaza, by holding a pillow over her face. The victim was also served some poisonous substance before being killed. Police have already arrested the victim’s employer Asad Rizvi and his brother Adil.
Labourer injured as pipeline explodes

LAHORE: A labourer received burns when a gas pipeline exploded during excavation work in the Azam Market, Rang Mahal, on Sunday. It was reported that labourers were digging a hole near an existing gas pipeline when they mistakenly caused a leak, which led to the explosion and injuries to a labourer. Upon being informed, the rescuers rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital where his condition was said to be critical.
Kiln owner killed by son

LALAMUSA: A kiln owner was allegedly shot dead by his son in Werowal on Sunday. Arshad Gujjar and his accused son quarreled over some issue. Later, the accused allegedly shot his father dead and fled. Sadar police have sent the body to the THQ Hospital Kharian for post mortem.
Man kills sister for ‘honour’ in Kasur

KASUR: A man allegedly killed his sister for honour at Mirzaywala in Raja Jang police limits. Nadeem had raised issues about his sister Shama. On the day of the incident, he allegedly strangled his sister. The police have registered a case and shifted the body to the DHQ hospital for postmortem.
Attempt to kidnap boy foiled

LAHORE: Locals foiled an attempt to kidnap a nine-year-old boy in the Sundar area on Sunday, and caught the two kidnappers. A kidnapper identified as Nadim and his accomplice were trying to kidnap a boy, Chand, when some locals caught them and handed them over to the police.
