US President Barack Obama will start his second India visit on Sunday (today). Before he departed for his visit, he gave an interview to India Today magazine where he said that those behind the Mumbai terror attacks must face justice. While the White House insists that its relations with India would not be at Pakistan’s expense, those in the corridors of power in Pakistan are feeling uneasy.

India’s controversial Prime Minister Modi is being wined and dined by big powers because of its huge economy. The US is also interested in India because it also wants to counter China’s influence in the region. Pakistan understands these geopolitical reasons all too well but it also knows that in the face of the Afghan drawdown, the US needs Pakistan’s support. Let’s see how the US is able to strike a balance and not alienate Pakistan in the process of wooing India.
