Dry, hot weather

LAHORE

A humid and hot day was observed in the city here Thursday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for Friday (today).

Met officials said a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to affect during next few days. They predicted that mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, dust-thunderstorm/rain with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Quetta, Kalat, Makran, Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Dera Ismail Khan, Malakand, Hazara divisions, Fata, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. On Thursday, dust-thunderstorm/rain with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Lahore, Malakand, Bannu, Sukkur divisions, Fata and Kashmir.

Rainfall was observed in several cities, including Sargodha (A/P 22, City 12), DG Khan, Layyah, Gujranwala, Murree, Jhang, Faisalabad, Kot Addu, Mandi Bahauddin, Noorpur Thal, Bahawalpur, Khanpur, Parachinar, Malam Jabba, Kalam, Bannu, Lower Dir, Garhi Dupatta, Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad and Jacobabad.

Thursday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Turbat where mercury reached 44°C while in Lahore, humidity was 32 percent, maximum temperature was 34°C and minimum was 24.8°C.
