271 Orakzai families given Rs43m to rebuild houses
HANGU: The political administration on Wednesday distributed Rs43 million among 271 families to rebuild their houses in Orakzai Agency.
Additional Political Agent Ahmed Zeb, Assistant Political Agent Iqbal Wazir and tribal elders attended the ceremony.Speaking on the occasion, Ahmed Zeb said that 5,000 damaged houses had been surveyed and financial assistance provided to the families to reconstruct the abodes.
He said the political administration sought another Rs600 million from the Fata Secretariat. The official said the owners of the destroyed houses were given Rs400, 000 while those whose houses were damaged got Rs160, 000.
Meanwhile, the tribal elders present on the occasion asked the government to increase the compensation amount as the present one was insufficient for the reconstruction of their houses.
