Hardworking students

Students are working hard for the upcoming HSC exams. On the other hand, the cheating mafia is all set to help a few students pass their exams. It is unfortunate that many students enjoy the liberty of using gadgets like mobile phones and tablets in examination halls. Students use messaging apps and find out answers of the questions given in the examination paper. These students get a copy of answers/solutions and they quickly complete their paper. In addition to the use of mobile, these chosen students sit in special rooms set up at many examination centres to either solve the paper or have it solved. Cheating is tantamount to the murder of merit. Every year, the secretary education vows to resolve the issue of unfair means and unlawful activities in examination halls, but no legal action is taken against a person who is caught cheating in examinations.

Every year, parents and students complain about how a few students use various techniques in examination halls. Parents have also expressed that one could easily find brokers on roads and streets busy in convincing students and their parents to pay certain amount of money for cheating facilities; to the extent they would make arrangements for solving the questions papers in special rooms at the exam centres or somewhere outside. Concrete steps should be taken by all concerned authorities to tackle the issue. The future of hardworking students is comprised because of these activities. In an event where the relevant authorities raid an examination centre, students who do not cheat in exams are also penalised. In order to progress, it is vital to uphold the standard of education in the country.
