2 ordinances presented in PA

LAHORE

Two ordinances including the Punjab Shehr-e-Khamoshan Authority Ordinance 2017 and the Punjab Boilers and Pressure Vessels (Amendment) Ordinance 2017 were laid in Punjab Assembly on Wednesday and referred to the standing committees. 

The PA session which started with a delay of nearly one and a half hour with Speaker Rana Mohammed Iqbal Khan in chair held the question hour session related with Local Government and Community Development during which concerned Minister Mansha Ullah Butt responded to the queries of legislators.

During the question hour session, Mian Aslam Iqbal, the PTI MPA elected from PP-148 took up the issue related with lack of street lights in different roads and other areas of his constituency. Speaking on the floor of the House, Aslam Iqbal said proper attention was not being paid to address this issue which was related with public and expressed dissatisfaction with the answer provided by the department. 

The minister on the occasion assured him that he had directed his staff to conduct survey of the constituency and come up with a detailed report. Mansha Ullah Butt gave assurance to Mian Aslam Iqbal that his complaint would be addressed by the evening after which t he question was disposed of.

Dr Waseem Akhter, the Parliamentary leader of Jamaat-e-Islami on the occasion appealed the government to take proper care of the public money and ensure its true utilisation on the projects. Calling attention of the minister to a project, he said people of that particular area were not even provided with a single drop of water but the information provided by the department showed a different picture. Moreover, talking to the media, Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood ul Rasheed said the Panama scam had exposed the real facet of the rulers and countdown for the corrupt leadership had started. He said that the people of Punjab were well aware of the wrong doings of the rulers.
