Says JIT will not produce any result if Nawaz Sharif remains the PM; Imran should tell about the changes he brought in KP; addresses press conference

SUKKUR: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has said that Nawaz Sharif should give his resignation and bring another PM onboard if he wanted the country to be strong. However, he added, that Nawaz Sharif, instead of being strong, stubbornly sat on the floor showing ‘no go attitude.’

The opposition leader said that it was a sign of the Day of Judgement that Interior Minister Chauhdry Nisar had become a lion.

Shah further said: “In Pervez Musharraf’s tenure, the interior minister was given protocol. The interior minister is also the biggest hindrance in the way of the National Action Plan. He [Nisar] comes ahead and talks about everything withpride. We can also do the same. Nawaz Sharif should control his people. If we speak up, the reverberations will be severe. We also have a tongue to speak. We don’t want to play dirty politics.”

While talking about Imran Khan, Shah said: “Imran Khan keeps condemning the Pakistan People’s Party’s performance in Sindh. What is the progress of KP after all these years? Nawaz Sharif’s position has only strengthened due to the politics of Imran Khan."

“Earlier, we had asked the PM not to resign, but now we ask him to resign,” Shah stressed. “If he comes clean out of the JIT probe, he can be appointed as the PM once again.”

He said that the court had ordered to form the JIT, but it would not produce any results if Nawaz Sharif would remain the PM. “Mian Nawaz Sharif has lost the opportunity to make a political decision,” he said. “Now, he is not a strong PM at all.”

While talking about Imran Khan, Shah said, “I will request Imran Khan not to behave in this way. This will only strengthen Nawaz Sharif.” He said that the power shortages was the worst issue. “Khawaja Asif says that there is rampant power theft,” he said. “According to the records, there is 20 percent more power theft in Lesco than Hesco and Sepco.”

Shah further added that the difference wasn’t too visible because there were more commercial users in Lahore. “There is 7,000MW loadshedding over there,” he said. “Why has the PML-N government not solved the issue of loadshedding in four years? Gas theft is also rampant.”

He said that Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and other leaders had pledged to end loadshedding. However, he added that there was more loadshedding today than the PPP government’s tenure. He concluded, “In Sindh’s city areas, there is loadshedding of around 15 hours. Is it fair to do so with the people of Sindh? Aren’t we the citizens of Pakistan?”
